Tony Ruggiero Information and Links
Tony Ruggiero has been publishing fiction since 1998. His science fiction, fantasy, and horror
stories have appeared in both print and electronic mediums from semi professional to professional
magazines. In many of his stories, he writes about people and their internal struggle making choices
when faced with diverse and moralistic issues. He also analyzes alternative lifestyles such as
vampires, aliens, and other creatures. In dealing with these diverse issues, Tony draws on his
twenty-three years experience as a United States Naval Officer and his experiences with people
of different countries.
His published and upcoming novels include. Team of Darkness, (March 2002) a horror novel published
by Hard Shell Word Factory. Get Out of My Mind (March 2003), Mind Trap (June 2003), both science
fiction novels, and Aliens and Satanic Creatures Wanted: Humans Need Not Apply, (Summer 2003), a
collection of science fiction, horror, and fantasy stories, all three to be published by Amber
Quill Press. Awards received include: Team of Darkness received a reviewer's choice award from
Scribes World Reviews and top ten finisher in the 2002 Readers Poll. Mind Trap is a 2003 EPPIE
finalist in the Science Fiction category and also nominated for best Science Fiction novel
by SimeGen Book Reviews.
Tony was born in Irvington, New Jersey. He attended Irvington High School and then college at
Kean University in Union, New Jersey. He received his bachelor's degree in Economics in June
1978. He enlisted in the United States Navy in July 1978. In 1982 he was accepted into Officer Candidate
School and went on to become a Supply Corps Officer where he served in numerous positions both afloat
and ashore. He continued to serve until October 2001, retiring at the rank of Commander. He has
spent a large portion of his Naval career in Virginia and now resides in Suffolk, Virginia, with his
wife Katie, daughter Alexandra, and Snickers, their chocolate Labrador retriever. For more information
