When a high profile potential presidential candidate with the charisma of Bobby Kennedy or Martin Luther King's life is threatened, the Darkwings go into action. If they fail to save this life, the ripple effect could be of doomsday proportions. There is something different about this case scenario, however. The possible assassin may be a vampire, and it is vampires who are going to stop the mysterious Gage, among them, Daphne Urban.

Now that her love life has turned sour, she is totally focused on her work, but this latest investigation opens her to old temptations anew. It also takes her and her team into the heart of a secret, Catholic organization that has targeted their kind and may be tied to the present crisis. When Daphne finds the answers, she may wish she had not asked the questions.

This is an edgy, compelling story. It might be a pun to say it grabs you by the jugular, but it is true. If you love a tightly woven, strong plot with charismatic characters, this series is what you want.
