This is by no means a badly written book. I picked it up because it had a story reminiscent of Arthur C. Clarke's Rendezvous with Rama which I enjoyed. I managed to get into this book quite easily, the idea was different enough to Clarke's book that I didn't find it a problem. The book got me going, the problem was it did not sustain much interest and by just passed half way I just found myself struggling to read it. I think that she is an author that is probably worth looking out for in years to come and this book has not meant I am unlikely to try another of hers, but maybe not just yet. |
