Trilby Elliot is the owner/operator of a barely legal freight transport and she needs to get repairs done quickly and get her cargo to its appointed destination. When she touches down on a minimally hospitable planet to do repairs she is surprised to see a lone enemy 'Sko space ship crash. Figuring the occupants are probably dead and there may be something worth salvaging, she heads over with her robotic assistant Dezi to take a look. What she finds is an unconscious Zafharin pilot, not an enemy 'Sko as expected. Hauling him back to her ship, she can't help but be impressed by his very fine masculine physique, and the injuries he has sustained that really don't appear to have been crash induced, and he also appears to healing incredibly fast. Upon regaining consciousness, he introduces himself as Rhis Vanur, rogue pilot. When Rhis offers to assist Trilby with her repairs, she consents though she refuses to trust him with anything that he may be able to sabotage or override. Trilby is an inventive mechanic and her ship no longer bears little resemblance to anything standard. With illegal enhanced armory, tweaked flight apparatus and navigations she has a sweet little ship that is almost inoperable by anyone other than herself. Together they make the necessary repairs and get underway, only to discover there have been an unusual set of occurrences that at first glance seem unrelated, but just don't feel right. Uncovering a major plot against the current ruling governments by enemy and homegrown factions, Rhis takes over the ship, but he must convince Trilby of his honorable intentions, which go down hill quickly when she finds out his true identity. Will Trilby be able to forgive his deception and mesh the Rhis she has grown to respect and care deeply for with the persona of his "real" identity? Will they be able to use their combined knowledge and lay a trap to catch the bad guys before they are blown to space dust? This is a great book, well written, good character development, yummy love scenes and a great start to a new series. Go Linnea!!! |
