Shanna Swendson always wanted to be a writer, even if she wasn't always aware of her career ambitions. There were those elaborate mental re-writes of Disney cartoon features, the re-imaginings of Broadway musicals based on cast albums for shows she hadn't seen (who would have guessed that Gypsy was about strippers instead of nomadic people from Eastern Europe who told fortunes in traveling carnivals?) and countless sequels to Star Wars. When you live on a military base in Germany where you get only one TV channel in English, you have to make your own fun.
