Book 4 in the Fixed series and every bit as engaging as each of the previous novels. There is a rift between the dimensions of Faerie and Earth and the Queens nephew has been seen in several places in New York and she wants him brought back before he totally ruins the treaty between Faerie and the paranormal Others of Earth. Luc, captain of the Queens Fae Guard has been sent to retrieve the errant nephew Seoc but never in his wildest dreams could he consider the upcoming events. He knows an is willing to deal with the Others, but he's dead set against having anything to do with the humans. Corrine D'Alessandro is a reporter on a small local paper and when her editor assigns her to investigate "leprechaun" sights she is sure fate is out to make her look like a fool even though she know of the existence of the Others through the marriages and relationships of three of her friends. Knowing about the Others though and accepting them is an entirely different matter and se has no desire to be drawn into anything to do with the paranormal society she's glimpsed through her friends. When Corrine's research and Luc's need to find Seoc throw them together, sparks fly and even as Luc realizes he has found his bond mate, Corrine is simply not buying the interracial aspects nor is she inclined to even consider any lengthy relationship with the gorgeous fae warrior even though he is the sexiest man she has ever laid eyes on and she has never felt like this toward any other man in her life. When things start to really unravel, it starts to look very much like neither of them may have a future to worry about and they can only hope to come out of this alive. With the addition of the Fae to the ranks of the other paranormal species, Christine Warren has given us another group to add to her already wonderful shadow world and again she has crafted a wickedly sexy pair of heroes to aid the paranormal Council of the Others in there fight to stay hidden until they choose to come out. Another keeper for my shelf. |
