Fur Play takes us back to the Werewolves and reintroduces us to one of the characters from the first book, Logan, second in command of the Silverback Clan. Logan is an alpha male were and while he loves Graham, his pack leader, like a brother, something is driving him hard. He's started picking fights with other were's and just generally being a pain. Graham is aware of Logan's increasingly dominant tendencies and decides to send Logan out to look into a question of succession in the White Paw Clan. The alpha has died and his second, also his daughter has taken control of the pack, but there are many who don't believe a female should hold the position and as the pack falls under the jurisdiction of the Silverback Clan, it is up to Graham, or his agent, Logan to determine if she will be a fit leader and endorse her bid. Honor Tate never wanted to be pack leader, but with the death of her alpha and father, she feels compelled to take over as alpha. She knows there is no other person, male of female that have the necessary skills to keep the pack running and take it into the 21st century. She also knows her decision will not be popular, and has already been forced to fight and defeat 2 men she grew up with. Logan is not pleased to be sent away from home but knows he's acting unreasonably and his first meeting with Honor is not a diplomatic success, it is however an enticing experience though neither wishes to admit it. With Logan's dominant tendencies and Honor's sense of duty the relationship suffers a few bumps, not to mention a murder attempt or two. Will Logan be able to come to terms with his own dominant nature and be able to accept Honor's bid for leadership and be content with being the second in command again, or will his aggressiveness force Honor to choose between the good of her pack and the man who holds her heart. This is another wonderful novel in Christine Warren's fabulous Fixed Series. Filled with passion, introspection, strife and love it is a wonderful addition to both the series and my keeper shelf. The books are all filled with sexy alpha heroes', witty heroines, witty banter and interesting situations, all wrapped up in this incredible paranormal world. |
