When Princess Fiona of the Fae wants a vacation from royalty, New York seems like a good spot in which to have it. However, she's barely arrived when she finds herself facing off against a demon with a werewolf, Tobias Walker, at her side. After they handle the demon, she goes home with Walker, though the tension between them is so thick that it could be cut with a knife. Fiona would be the first to admit there is an attraction there, and can't understand why Walker is reluctant to as well. When he does give in, she is so not ready for him to decide that she is his mate. However, that is really a minor consideration in the big scheme of things. It seems that someone is summoning fiends from Below in an attempt to stage a magical coupe, and it will take the combined strengths of a Fae Princess, several Others, and a good demon to defeat that person. So much for a vacation, much less peace talks. Though at the outset it seems as if there will be an over emphasis on sensuality, things become more plot focused before long, and the romance does not get too graphic. Ms. Warren has envisioned a world of mingled beings that is worth exploring in detail. |
