'The Obsidian Tower' is the concluding part of Freda Warrington's Jewelfire Trilogy and it certainly the most complex of the three books. The author is faced with the problem of bringing together a number of intricate storylines in a satisfactory manner and, as usual, she manages this expertly. Having read each volume of the trilogy soon after each was released I do recommend that you try to read together one following another as I found it tricky picking up the rather detailed plot after a break of several months. It has to be said that the Jewelfire Trilogy is a series that is ideal for the committed fantasy fan. If you are just discovering the genre you may find the trilogy a little hard going. I loved it! All three books. I am definitely looking forward to the next releases from Freda Warrington. |
