Right, before I start I think it is only fair to mention that Freda Warrington is probably my favourite author. This has undoubtedly had an effect on the review but what the heck!

Sapphire Throne is book 2 of the Jewelfire Trilogy. I read book 1 over a year ago (in the space of 3 days whilst recovering from surgery) and I found it so enthralling that it was one of the few things that took my mind off things and stopped me feeling sorry for myself! Following that I found the wait for the 2nd book to be interminable! I definitely think that in future I won’t start reading until I have the whole series.

Saying that, book 2 was well worth the wait. The story continues without faltering. The main character discovers secrets about her past that were previously only hinted at and the book ends with a cliff-hanger that promises great things for the final instalment.

Oh well, only a few more months to go...
