Magister is possibly one of the best Fantasy novels I have ever read. I was gripped from the first couple of pages and found myself reading into the night in an attempt to find out what was going to happen next. The characters are very clearly written and the story line flows freely. There isn’t a single moment when the story becomes stale. I will definitely be reading other works by Jonathan Wylie in the future. |

This book is set in England. Not quite the England you or I might walk around in though although in many ways this England is very much like the one I have lived all my life in. Okay the big difference here is that magic exists, and our lead character is studying Magic at the Royal Academy. That is one course I would have enjoyed. The story is that the main character is assigned a special project by the college principal, which leads him into researching his family's past and the life and works of the greatest magician. This book is superb, simple! I have read Wylie's books before but this is probably the best I have read as yet. Well worth reading! |
