I am currently working on the campaign sourcebook, in the D20 system, based on my novels.

Who or what has been a major influence on your writing and why?
Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. They showed the best way to have a large group of primary characters and still maintain full and interesting characterizations.

With which of your works are you most/least satisfied and why?
Seeing as I am never 100% satisfied and can always see room for improvement in my work that is impossible for me to answer.

What are your favorite and least favorite words?
My least favorite is "It's impossible." And my favorite is "I decided to let you sleep in today."

Who (Fact or Fiction) would you most like to meet, and what would you ask them?
Ozzy Osborne. I don't know that I'd want to ask him anything. I'd just like to hang out and listen to him.

Is there a book or story you wish you had written?
Neuromancer by William Gibson or Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? By Philip K. Dick.

If you could have one wish granted what would it be?
(LOL) To be free from want.

Is writing your full time occupation, if not what is?
Don't I wish! To pay the bills I'm a PC technician.

My first professionally published piece was in '91. I was stunned.

Who is your favourite author?
Ernest Hemmingway.

If you could give one piece of advice to a would-be author, what would it be?
Never give up and never stop reading!

I've been an aspiring writer for as long as I can remember.

When did you first feel that you were an author?
I still don't know if I do. When I can do it full time to pay the bills, maybe then.

Are you for or against e-books?
Don't know enough about them to have an opinion.

Are you a music fan? If so, what?
YES! Music is one of the things I use to inspire me to write. If I had any talent for it, I think I'd want to be a musician as much as I want to be a writer. Just about anything, Heavy Metal, Alternative, Techno, Industrial, Punk, Sixties Rock, American Folk, just about anything other than Country Western.

SF, Skiffy or Sci-Fi? What is the correct shortening of Science Fiction and does it matter?
Sci-Fi.

Not really. If we didn't have such crummy weather in Wisconsin, I'd like to write outdoors.

Do you enjoy book signings/conventions?
YES! Very much!

Why do you like SF/F/H?
The unreality of it. There are no true limits. Even if presented in a visual format, it takes an immense amount of imagination to fully enjoy it.

What book are you reading at the moment?
Dummies Guide to A+ Certification. No exactly great reading, but it will make it easier to write more.

Do you enjoy collaborating?
Yes.

How does your approach to the editing role differ from that of writing?
I let someone else handle the nightmare.

What's you main ambition?
To be able to write full time.

Is there something you are particularly proud of?
My son.

Plug away - what do you have coming out?
The Bard of Azure and Gold should be out later this year. It's the sequel to The Legend of Hawkwind, available now. They are the first two books in the World of Marna series.

Many Thanks, Adrian
