The world has changed drastically, with mutated animals and humans. It is tentatively called A Mermaid's Quest. Who (Fact or Fiction) would you most like to meet, and what would you ask hem? Stephen King. Where do your ideas come from? Do you ever dream them? If you could give one piece of advice to a would-be author, what would it be? Make sure your heart is really tied into your dream and then follow it. When did you first decide that you wanted to be an author? When I was 25 I hand-wrote almost half of Love's Captive. It got stuck into a drawer for years until I finally decided to get serious about my writing. Are you for or against e-books? For. I am with a publisher who is an ebook publisher and mass market. Ebooks are often different than those put out by the big publishers. We don't have strict guidelines to follow, so if we want a mixture of genres in our books, it's OK with our publisher. Love's Captvie has s/f, fantasy, and romance. Shifters is a mix of fantasy with a touch of horror. Do you have a favourite place to write? My computer, but I can just as easily write with a pen while relaxing on the couch. I also take a notepad to work and jot down notes while standing in the hallway during break time. Why do you like SF/F/H? I guess it's the "escapism", being taken to another planet or dimension where anything can happen that your imagination can encompass. Do you prefer writing about the near future or the far distant future? I enjoy both. Love's Captive is our present time on another planet, while the current book I'm writing is far in the future. Do you enjoy collaborating? I haven't as far as writing a story along with another author. But I did collaborate in placing a novella in the anthology Shifters. I enjoyed working with these other talented authors. Do you Always know a Story's Ending When You Begin Writing? Yes, I like to know how it's going to end. What's the most memorable thing said in a review of your work? Of Love's Captive, I really liked what the Affaire de Coeur reviewer said "This sci-fi romance has a little bit of everything for everybody; gorgeous, powerfully built men, beautiful, full-figred women, an alien planet with warrior women, adventure, excitement and hot steamy love scenes. An enticing story full of characters so real they seem to jump off the page." Of Shifters, the reviewer for Romance Reviews Today said of my novella "Dark and disturbing at times, DEMON KILLER is a tribute to the strength, brightness-and magic-of a mother's love. The atmosphere in this well-crafted fantasy world exerts an extremely strong hold on one's imagination. Put more plainly: It's a real grabber." Plug away - what do you have coming out? Shifters came out April, it's an anthology - Tales of the Paranormal, four novellas about vastly different kinds of shapeshifters. I also have the sequel to Love's Captive called Heart of the Dragon, which is being read by several publishers. Many Thanks, Myra! Myra Nour Main Bibliography Myra Nour's Website
