They are looking for erotica and their guidelines page suggests time travel, science fiction and paranormal erotica are high on their list. One will be historical fantasy, whilst the other concentrates on humourous fantasy. Word count for submissions is 3,000 - 6,000 words and they will both be paying on a royalty sharing basis. Print Magazines Submissions Analog Magazine Guidelines. Analog will consider submissions from any author whether previously published or not. They are looking for science fiction only in terms of fiction, although they will print the full range of that genre. Payment for fiction is 6-8c (US) per word for short stories up to 7,500 words, USD $450-600 for 7,501 to 10,000 words, and 5-6c per word for longer stories. Non-fiction articles are preferred at about 4,000 words in length covering areas of scientific research, and speculation on future developments. Payment for non-fiction is 6c per word. They will not accept simultaneous submissions. All submissions must be sent on white paper, printed on one side only and must be double-spaced. Primarily they are looking for horror and dak fantasy but will receive sf submissions as long as it is dark in feel. Payment is USD $20 per story. They are also looking for articles, reviews and interviews on horror and dark sf, from the reader's as well as writer's perspective. Articles pay USD $12-15 dependent upon length, reviews USD $5-10. They pay 3c per word and require first serial rights (no reprints) and do not accept simultaneous submissions. Online Horror fiction/poetry magazine Champagne Shivers will be reopening for submissions on March 10, 2003 when they are looking for submissions for their May issue. Online SF magazine the Martian Wave is open for submissions. They feature sf written about the exploration and colonisation of our solar system. Maximum story length is 7,500 words and payment is USD 8 per story. The Quantum Muse is a website presenting sf/f stories on a monthly basis. They pay USD 10 per story, although there is also a fan contribution system whereby people reading the stories can make a payment to the author/site. For-the-Love Markets Totally F***ed up Zine (http://www.geocities.com/tfuzine/) Looking for fiction that contains either drama, comedy, horror, light sf, teen, action, gay, lesbian, music, working class, mystery, goth, suburban, urban, dashboard confessional, and experimental. 1,000 - 4,000 words, respond in a few weeks, reprints are okay, just make sure you tell them, you have the rights, and where it was first printed so that it is published correctly. No hardcore sc-fi, no hardcore erotica (porn), definitely nothing with severe abuse against children (graphically killing a child or molesting them), and definitely no whining unless the character learns or changes from it. Submissions Send a .doc or .rtf as an attachment of an email. Use block paragraphs and only double space between paragraphs. In your email covering letter explain the genre of your story, word count, link to your site if you have one, and a small bio that will be tagged at the end of the story. Rights revert back to author on publication, then the story is archived the story for 6 months, before being removed. Stories can be removed sooner for publishing in another mag - just send an email.
