After being subjected to Satan's harshest punishment as repayment for being kind and repenting, Damon finds love in the town he founded as a refuge for magical families in Susan Grant's 'Mortal In Mysteria'. Next, a Wyndam Werewolf believes he wants to be alone, until he meets the love of his life, but she's not a werewolf, so can it work? Let MaryJanice Davidson show you how well in 'Alone Wolf'. In 'The Witches of Mysteria and the Dead Who Love Them', a vampire hunter succombs to love with a witch, only to die shortly thereafter and become a monster. Now, one of the Tawdry witch sisters will just have to convince him that a mixed marriage between a vampire and a witch can work, won't she? Gena Showalter pokes fun at Dark Shadows and Desparate Housewives both in one clever, fell swoop. Finally, in P.C. Cast's 'Candy Cox and the Big, Bad Werewolf', a burnt out teacher discovers the anodyne to her broken heart, but her fear that Justin the wolf is too good to be true might sabotage her future. The authors have made good use of the idea of a magical town as the vehicle to make their stories related without being directly tied together. Ms. Grant's is the most uplifting of the batch, being a feel good story as well as having an edge of wicked humor, but all of them make for good romantic satire. |
