Torn between duty to her father or to her king, a woman choses a third option in Mercedes Lackey's Moontide, and learns to listen to the wisdom of a fool. Heart of the Moon, by Tanith Lee finds two souls on a quest for love and truth that challenges all they believe and dares them to change their lives. C.E. Murphy returns to her shaman's world in Banshee's Cry, where Joanne Walker is forced to again take up the mantle of destiny to solve a case, calling upon powers she hates using to do the good she needs to do. Though all of the stories are really to brief to truly develop, fans of these writers will enjoy them. The three stories are nothing alike, so could well appeal to three very different types of readers. |
