DIYary by Maxine Wesson

Friday 25th August

Finished my DIY course for beginners today, it coincided perfectly with the dodgy workmen finishing the soundproofing of my cellar.

Jack’s been a perfect gentleman for the last couple of days, I know he’s only trying to humour me though, preparing me for the next business meeting no doubt.

I haven’t told him about the cellar, he would never agree to employ people that only worked for cash and gave no invoices. Doesn’t really matter though because he never goes down there.

Saturday 26th August

As I guessed Jack’s been called away again, "I’ll be gone for at least a week darling" He must think that I was born yesterday, I already checked the dates of his meetings, and this one doesn’t start until Monday, that gives him the weekend with the lovely Rachel, can’t complain though because it also gives me plenty of time to try out my new skills.

Monday 28th August

Had a busy day yesterday preparing the cellar, the lighting down there is pretty good so I stayed at it until quite late, I now have a huge table in the centre of the room (which I’m proud to say I put together myself) and a couple of shelves for my tools.

I’ve phoned the lovely Rachel and asked her over on the pretence of arranging a surprise birthday party for Jack.

She is on strict orders not to mention it to anyone in the office and as she’s just spent the weekend with my husband I know that the guilt will insure that she complies.

I also told her to come in a cab so that we could share a bottle of wine, well I don’t want anyone to see her car in my drive.

Tuesday 29th August

Rachel is now spread-eagled across my new table in the cellar and not looking quite so lovely, she was such a pushover, a few sleeping tablets in her wine and she went out like a light, I saw no point in trying to carry her down all those steps so I just pushed her down, I think she may have a few broken bones in there somewhere.

I had to gag her when she came round the screaming was just too much, anyway her eyes say it all.

Wednesday 30th August

I am having such a good time Jack will be amazed at what a great job I’ve done screwing Rachel’s hands and feet to the table, I even used raw plugs, I had to keep stopping because the blood kept making my drill slip and I had a hard time with the screws but I got there eventually.

Rachel passed out quite a bit which gave me the chance to try my new staple gun on her mouth and get rid of the gag; I left a small gap in the middle just enough room for a small nozzle.

Thursday 31st August

Rachel was barely alive today when I went down to see her but I didn’t have the heart to finish her off quite yet, instead I spent a few hours fetching and carrying bricks for the final phase of my plan, I’ve stacked them all neatly in the pantry at the side of the cellar door, I need them out of sight for the time being.

Friday 1st September

Today was the big one, I phoned Jack and told him I needed him home tonight I had something to show him.

He agreed but seemed a little distracted apparently his secretary hadn’t been at work all week.

Then I went down to do the filling in this was always my favourite when I was learning.

I let Rachel see me put the filler into the gun then started with her ears, she made a weak attempt to shake her head but when she realised how determined I was she just gave up.

I filled in all her little holes and crevices until all that was left was her mouth, which I did while her eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.

Saturday 2nd September

I took Jack down there last night about nine, I told him I had a surprise for him I gave him a little help with a hefty shove from the top step, then I locked and bolted the door and turned on the lights for him.

His screams were music to my ears although they were only very faint.

I didn’t wait for him to get back up the steps (supposing that he could) I started bricking up the door straight away, after all my DIY teacher was taking me on holiday tomorrow for a whole month.
