I make no apology for liking this show. Or for enjoying reading novels based on TV shows. I usually find that there are some things that you can write about which would have far exceeded the budget of most TV shows and certainly Highlander.

This novel indeed does that, mainly in terms of the location, the Yukon in winter. This novel is reasonable well written, the characters act pretty much as I would expect and the story is not bad at all. My only problem with this as a book is that it all seemed a little formulaic, I know that the author was having to keep within the bounds of an established universe but I was still left with a feeling that this book could have been more.

So what can I say about this novel. Well, I normally look upon TV tie-in books as a breath of fresh air but in this case I found it positively hard work. The characters were vague impressions of their TV personae but overall I found it a rather tedious book. I found the story pointless and the "guest immortal" rather irritating. The other Highlander novels I have read have been significantly better than this one so I suggest you try one of those instead!
