Everyone who lives in Quentaris knows that when the Archon is about to make a public proclamation you should make every effort to be there as you will probably want to hear what he has to say. It was at such an announcement, on the fourteenth day of Leffen, that Nisha and Tal discover that a star is missing from the sky and the Archon is offering a generous reward for anyone who can find it. There is only one problem – no one knows what this star looks like. As they decide to search for the missing star Tal suggests that his old mentor Esbandalon may be able to help – but he is in prison, in one of the facilities run by the dreaded Voiceless Rin. To help Tal's friend, Nisha decides to burn down a wall in the prison to allow everyone to escape. Unfortunately the pair were seen running from the prison and Nisha soon found herself in debt to Rin – not a happy situation to be in! Stars of Quentaris is yet another wonderful story set in the magical city of Quentaris and follows the lives of Tal and Nisha as they try to discover the identity and location of the missing star while avoiding capture by the terrifying Voiceless Rin. Having read a large number of the Quentaris books I think that my appreciation of the stories increases as I delve deeper into the world. I think it is the familiarity of the characters and scenes that makes all of the books so very enjoyable. Whenever a Quentaris book arrives on our doorstep I know that I am in for an exciting enchanting story that will leave me with a smile. |
